For the past few months, my colleagues and I have been hard at work creating important legislation that addresses some of our critical energy needs.
The Farm Bill which I guided through the Agriculture Committee invests the resources necessary to develop alternative sources of fuel here at home and end our dangerous addiction to foreign oil.
The President and his Party refuse to pass this legislation because big oil companies and oil-producing countries in the Middle East disapprove of the measure.
I am certain the Republicans have it all wrong. Just as I know Americans care about the cost of fuel to drive their cars and heat their homes, I also know the good people of this country care deeply about reversing the affects of global warming and ending our dependence on foreign oil.
That’s why I need your help. Join me today by signing my petition. Call on your members of Congress and the president to support these critical investments in renewable sources of energy. Tell them you want a bold new strategy and a responsible energy policy for the future.
Thanks, as always, for your continued support.
Tom

Dear Senator Harkin, If we would quit wasting money on corn based ethanol credits, forced RFS mandates and unconscionable farm subsidies we could redirect billions and billions of dollars to renewable fuel research not to mention a lot of road construction and maintenance. Corn based ethanol industry would be lucky to generate enough energy gain to keep the Zippo lighter industry operational. Please take the time to explain the energy gain from corn based ethanol to the Des Moines register in you spare time. Your strides toward energy independence will not go unnoticed. Hello Tom how are you, It has been almost 10 years ago since we met for the first time in L.A. in the elevator with Tom Dashcle at a AAAOM conference I was speaking at. Europe uses clean diesel engines in 40% of their cars. Clean diesel is more efficient than gasoline hybrid. For around a thousand dollars a clean diesel engine can be converted to run on (svo)straight vegetable oil. We need legislation writen and subsidies encouraged for your state and the auto industy to promote and advertise these scientific facts. This is a project of mine I will start to make known nationally after the general presidential elections next year. I enjoyed very much working with you and your staff, 10 years ago on /with Oriental medicien and acupuncture, I even raised money for you and Peter, I think his name was, worked closely with me on conferences etc. Who can I talk with in your office to plan stuff for next year on this “fossil fuel addiction cure”. And with Iowa being a large producer of vegetable oils, which a mixture works best, is a key state to gain subsidies, contracts and build these new emerginging sustainable industies. Call me or write, May God be with you all. Prof./Dr. Neil
