June 14, 2007 – Kellogg took a big step Thursday. The company made the first agreement that sets a limit on the kinds of products that can be marketed to young children.
Iowa Senator Tom Harkin applauds the Kellogg Company’s commitment to responsible marketing to children.
In a statement released, Harkin says, “today’s announcement by the Kellogg Company has the potential to be a defining moment in our nation’s fight against childhood obesity.”
Harkin is a leader in federal efforts to combat obesity by promoting healthy-eating habits among adults and children.
